Stay Informed 2025 Nevada Legislature
Less than 80 days remain in the 83rd Session of the Nevada Legislature! To date, nearly 1,160 bills have been requested and about 950 have been introduced. For a listing of planning-oriented bills and bill requests APA Nevada is following for its members, please see attached and visit our website for updates. APA Nevada would like to call specific attention to Assembly Bill 241 (Jauregui); while section 1 of the bill appears to omit cities in an appeals process, the bill would require Nevada’s cities and counties to adopt an ordinance authorizing the construction of multifamily housing or mixed-use development on any property zoned commercial (no variations of commercial zoning are specified) and require expedited permitting of such projects. Another bill, Assembly Bill 443 (Gallant), effectively eliminates the power of a local government to utilize zoning in any meaningful way.

- Important Dates (Subject to change):
- 4.11.25: Bills must be passed out of committee (first house); those that don’t cannot proceed further, pursuant to Joint Standing Rules, unless declared exempt
- 4.22.25: Bills must be passed out of the first house
- 5.16.25: Bills must be passed out of committee (second house)
- 5.23.25: Bills must be passed out of the second house
- 5.28.25: Budget bills and exempted bills from committees must be introduced
- 6.2.25: Session concludes at midnight

- SJR 4 - Urges the Federal Government to support certain land use planning principles when conducting projects in this State – To Committee
- BDR 372 - Authorizes the creation of business improvement districts under certain circumstances.

- BDR 783 - Revises provisions governing transportation funding.
- BDR 784 - Revises provisions related to transportation.
