For planners interested in becoming AICP, we have an important announcement regarding the AICP Exam and the certification process. Beginning in 2026, One Path to AICP will transition to one expanded window for all steps, thereby increasing flexibility for candidates. By consolidating into a single, extended exam and experience assessment window each year, this approach broadens access and reduces barriers for members pursuing certification. The tentative dates are:
- Exam Registration: April 1 – September 11
- Exam Administration: April 1 – September 30
- Experience Assessment Submission: April 1 – November 30
